The Mark of the Beast, Book 3

While tens of thousands of people flood into tiny Shiloh, Montana, hoping for a miracle, a healing, or maybe just a meal, Evanthas Bestia, the charismatic miracle worker they’ve come to see, is missing. Pastor Ashley Stokes is panic-stricken. Evanthas doesn’t answer his phone or texts. His personal limo and helicopter are also gone, along with his two mysterious assistants.

The faithful, countless thousands now, sleep in the fields, in residents’ yards, and even the sidewalks of the small farm town, consuming its food and water. Crime skyrockets, and citizens are afraid to leave their homes.

The city blames Ashley for all the trouble and demands she fix it. Worse, rumors spread that the pretty pastor is in love with the miracle man.

To protect the church’s reputation, the church board is considering firing her.

The city turns to the nearby army camp for help, and the garrison, nearly destroyed by Micah Smith’s militia in a recent raid, flatly refuses.

Meanwhile, Army attack helicopters and search-and-destroy patrols force Smith and his fighters to retreat deep into the Rocky Mountains, while the countryside becomes crowded with criminals and desperate people trying to escape martial law and starvation.

Will the miracle worker come back? Is Ashley in love? Will the freedom fighters endure? Read The Elect, the third book in the Mark of the Beast series, to find out.
